CITY OF GUSTAVUS

Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Southeast Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:

APPLICANT: CITY OF GUSTAVUS

PROJECT NAME: LAS 32902

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Icy Strait, adjacent to Pleasant Island, approximately 1.5 miles south of Gustavus

LEGAL DESCRIPTION: NW¼NE¼, Sec. 29, T. 40 S., R. 59 E., CRM

REQUESTED ACTIVITY: The City of Gustavus has submitted an application to the Division of Mining Land and Water (DMLW) for a 5-year Land Use Permit requesting authorization for seasonal (October 1 - April 30) moorage of an unoccupied steel mooring float on state-owned submerged lands within Icy Strait. The steel mooring float (18' x 200', 3,600 sq. ft.) would be secured with four 2,500 pound steel danforth anchors and two 24" buoys to the submerged lands.

PROPOSED DATES OF USE:
Start: October 1, 2019
End: September 30, 2024

DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: August 22, 2019

The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at the Southeast Regional Land Office, 400 Willoughby Avenue/PO Box 111020, Juneau, AK 99811-1020 on or before 5:00 PM on the date noted above. After review and adjudication, we may issue an authorization with stipulations for the activity. The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
