Matanuska Susitna Borough
Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Southcentral Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:
APPLICANT: Matanuska Susitna Borough
PROJECT NAME: LAS 32600
GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Along a 800-900 foot section of state land at milepost 111.5 of the Parks Highway.
LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Sections 8 and 17 of Township 25 North, Range 5 West, Seward Meridian
REQUESTED ACTIVITY: Cross country travel of heavy equipment including the use of a log skidder, feller buncher, log truck, bulldozer, and pickup truck across a route that includes approximately 800-900 feet of state land for the purpose of removing spruce trees infested with or killed by spruce bark beetles.

Start: October 1, 2018
End: September 30, 2023

The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at the Southcentral Regional Land Office, 550 W. 7th Ave., Suite 900C, Anchorage, AK 99501-3577 on or before 5:00 PM on the date noted above.
