Sealed bids for Whittier Tunnel Surface and Drainage Improvements, Program Number: 0496(014) / Z584810000, will be received before 2:00 p.m., August 22, 2018 at 4111 Aviation Avenue, Anchorage, Alaska.

This federally funded project will crown drainage collection to reduce water flowing into the subgrade, reduce panel settlement and retard the corrosion of invert panel rebar, rail and rail connections. Work also includes invert panel concrete surface sealing to mitigate rebar corrosion, infiltration drainage collection, traffic control electronic signage, application of fluid-applied membrane roofing on the roof of the Whittier portal, and stabilization of the tunnel walls and ceiling to mitigate rock fall hazard

The Engineer's Estimate is between $10,000,000 and $20,000,000. The Project Completion date is April 30, 2020.
