UNIV ALASKA LAND MANAGEMENT
Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Northern Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:
APPLICANT: UNIVERSITY OF ALASKA LAND MANAGEMENT
PROJECT NAME: LAS 32423
GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: An undeveloped tundra site along the shoreline on Foggy Island Bay, approximately 16 miles east of Deadhorse (70.20425 N, 147.7008 W).
LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Section 24, Township 10 North, Range 17 East, Umiat Meridian
REQUESTED ACTIVITY: Land Use Permit for research activities including the installation of a temporary weather station to monitor coast conditions and to collect wave, weather, and erosion data. Data will be collected as part of a BOEM funded , University of Alaska led project to gather data to improve coastal storm and erosion models. A Sun Xtender PVX-1040T Non spillable AGM 12V, 104Amp-hr battery and solar panel will be used to power the system. The battery will be house in a NEMA rated weather enclosure mounted on the tripod.

The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity.
