NOTICE OF WATER RIGHT APPLICATIONS
LAS 31867 & LAS 31868
Pursuant to AS 46.15 and rules and regulations (11 AAC 93) promulgated thereunder, notice is hereby given that two applications have been received from Hecla Greens Creek Mining Company (HGCMC), P.O. Box 32199, Juneau, AK, 99801, to appropriate water as follows:
LAS 31867 – 920 Area Groundwater Seepage Collection System (920 AGSCS)
Groundwater in the Greens Creek drainage system that has come into contact with active mining areas must be collected and treated prior to entering outfall from the mine site. The Application for Water Rights includes production for the 920 AGSCS totaling 374 gallons per minute (gpm) for year-round use of a total daily volume of 538,560 gallons. The collection system includes mine dewatering and a pond system.
LAS 31868 – Tailings Facility Groundwater Collection System (TFGCS)
A groundwater collection system located within the Tributary Creek and Cannery Creek drainages that includes five Tailings underdrains, Pond 7 seepage return, and Pond 10 below-liner return. The Application for Water Rights includes production for the TFGCS averaging 42 gpm for year-round use of a total maximum daily volume of 120,000 gallons.
Both applications for this project are located within the Lease for Milling Purposes PL96-487 dated December 2, 1980, located within Sections 4, 5, 8, and 9 T44S, R66E, CRM. Priority date for both applications is May 7, 2017.

If issued, a permit may be extended for good cause shown, pursuant to AS 46.15.110 and 11 AAC 93.120(f), without additional public notice.
