Nushagak Cooperative Inc.

Subject to 11 AAC 18.010, the Director’s Office of the Division of Parks and Outdoor
Recreation has received an application for the following:

APPLICANT: Nushagak Cooperative Inc.

PROJECT NAME: LAS 32276

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Study area will be from the base level of Tikchik Lake to the park boundary via the Nuyakuk River, approximately 12 river miles to the east.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Tikchik Lake and the Nuyakuk River within Sections 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, Township 003 South, Range 051 West, Seward Meridian; and Sections 10, 11, 13, 14, 15, 22, 23, 24, Township 003 South, Range 052W, Seward Meridian.

REQUESTED ACTIVITY:

1. Applicant is requesting to conduct land surveying and bathymetry surveying from approximately .5 mile upstream to .5 mile downstream of the proposed project site of the Nuyakuk River falls. Both projects will take place during a two-week period in August.

2. Applicant is requesting to conduct fish habitat surveys of the proposed project site over a 2-4 day period in late September/early October.

    

   PROPOSED DATES OF USE:

   Start: June 1, 2018

   End: June 1, 2021

    

   DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: 5:00 pm on April 30, 2018

    

   You are invited to review the enclosed Special Park Use Permit application materials.  Please direct any questions or comments you may have to the Director’s Office Permitting email, parkpermitting@alaska.gov, or the above address.  You need not respond if you do not have any comments.  The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on the proposed activity.

    

   After review and adjudication, we may issue a permit with stipulations for the activity.  The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
