Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Northern Regional Office has received an application for the following:

APPLICANT: Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities (DOT&PF)

PROJECT NAME: LAS 31711 Elliott Highway MP 0-12 Rehabilitation

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION:  Elliott Highway between milepost 0 and 12.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION:  Fairbanks Meridian, Township 3 North, Range 1 West, Sections 14-15, 22-25, & 36;
                                  Fairbanks Meridian, Township 2 North, Range 1 West, Sections 1 & 12;
                                  Fairbanks Meridian, Township 2 North, Range 1 East, Sections 7, 18-19, 30, & 31.

REQUESTED ACTIVITY: DOT&PF is requesting authorization for a rehabilitation project along a portion of the Elliott Highway from milepost 0 to milepost 12. This permit will provide space necessary for temporary bypass roads and construction of Air Convection Embankments (ACE).  The project includes resurfacing the project length, select road embankment widening, select side slope flattening, minor curve flattening, new and replacement culverts, guardrail repair and replacement, in-stream rip rap work, and rehabilitation of the Chatanika River Bridge.

PROPOSED DATES OF USE: During the 2018 construction season.

DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: Monday, June 26, 2017 by 5:00 PM

The public is invited to comment on the proposed activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at 3700 Airport Way, Fairbanks, AK 99709 on or before 5:00 PM on the date noted above. After review and adjudication, we may issue a permit with stipulations for the activity.  The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
