TRANS ALASKA PIPELINE SYSTEM (TAPS) PUMP STATION 5 (PS-5)
The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) has made a preliminary decision to approve Alyeska Pipeline Service Company’s application for Air Quality Control Minor Permit AQ0098MSS02 for TAPS PS-5.
Applicant: Alyeska Pipeline Service Company, PO Box 196660, Anchorage, AK 99519
Location: Latitude: 66º 48´ 47" North; Longitude: 150º 39´ 43" West
Activity: The minor permit is classified under 18 AAC 50.508(5) for an owner requested limit to avoid permit classification under AS 46.14.130 and under 18 AAC 50.502(c)(3).
Emissions: New stationary source potential emissions due to this modification are 193 tpy for NOx, 137 tpy for CO, 82 tpy for SO2, 413 tpy for VOC, 12 tpy for PM-2.5, and 12 tpy for PM-10.
Preliminary Review: Based on review of the application, ADEC drafted a preliminary permit decision for the project under AS 46.14 and 18 AAC 50.

Opportunity for Public Participation: Notice is also given that any interested person may present written statements relevant to the draft documents within 30 days after the first publication date. ADEC will consider all comments received and make any changes ADEC finds beneficial or necessary to assure compliance with 18 AAC 50 or State Law. ADEC will issue a final decision to issue or deny the permit after the close of the public comment period. Any person may request a public hearing and that hearing will be held if ADEC finds that good cause exists.
