Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Northern Regional Office has received an application for the following:

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION:
Base Camp 1: This site is located approximately 22 miles south of Shishmaref on the Seward Peninsula, 12.5 miles south of the erring Land Bridge National Preserve and approximately 5 miles north of the American River, as shown on the Teller (D-2) 1:63:360 map. This site is located on a ridge top above Kelly Creek at Lat. 65.77288 N, Long. -165.8934 W.
Base Camp 2: This site is located approximately 39 miles NE of Teller, AK along Eldorado Creek, east of Budd Creek and north of Canyon Creek, as shown on the Teller (C-2) map. This site is located 18.5mi SE of base camp 1 at Lat. 65.6495N, Long. -165.3397W.
LEGAL DESCRIPTION:
Camp 1: Section 2, T4N, R35W, KM
Camp 2: Section 21, T3N, R32W, KM
REQUESTED ACTIVITY: Brian Simpson submitted an amendment to his application for a land use permit (LUP) for a seasonal guide/outfitter camp near Shishmaref on the Seward Peninsula. This amendment would include an additional seasonal camp (base camp 2) with a 12’x20’ plywood cabin on dunnage and 5’x5’ outhouse located at Navigator (see attachment A).
PROPOSED DATES OF USE:
Multi-year term for up to 5 years. Beginning year: 2016, Ending year: 2021
This notice is for an amendment to this permit.
DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: March 30, 2017 by 5PM
The public is invited to comment on the proposed activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at 3700 Airport Way, Fairbanks, AK 99709 on or before 5:00 p.m. on the date noted above. After review and adjudication, we may issue a permit with stipulations for the activity. The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
