PUBLIC NOTICE: DECISION AND FINDINGS OF COMPLIANCE FOR A
MAJOR REVISION TO PERMIT # S-0605
Usibelli Coal Mine, Inc. (UCM), P.O. Box 1000, Healy, Alaska 99743, has filed for a revision to their Jumbo Dome Road Corridor (JDRC) project; permit number S-0605.
The JDRC permit consists of a 610-acre haul road and corridor to the Jumbo Dome Mine (permit number S-0606), and is located approximately five (5) miles northeast of Healy, Alaska. The mine is located within: Sections 4, 8, 9, 19, 20, 25, 29, and 30, Township 11 South, Range 6 West; and Sections 3-5, Township 12 South, Range 7 West, Fairbanks Meridian.
The proposed revision would increase the permit boundary by a total of 300 acres; 190 acres on the west side of the road corridor and 110 acres on the east side. The purpose of the boundary increase along the west side of the road is to incorporate areas that will provide a source of gravel to complete the haul road into the Jumbo Dome Mine. Disturbance within this boundary revision would include a 42-acre gravel site and a half mile, 80-foot-wide access road. The eastern boundary increase will allow for easier inspection and monitoring of impacted areas along the permit boundary.

The applicant or a person with an interest which is or may be adversely affected by this decision may request in writing a hearing under AS 27.21.150 to review the reasons for this decision. The request for a hearing may be mailed or delivered to Andrew T. The request for a hearing must be received within 30 days after the applicant is notified of this decision. The request for a hearing must be received by 5:00 p.m., April 12, 2017.
