Notice of Application for Natural GasPipeline Facility Improvement
The REGULATORY COMMISSION OF ALASKA (Commission) gives notice that on December 5, 2014, Kenai Beluga Pipeline, LLC (KBPL), holder Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity No. 668, filed an application to authorize the modification of the existing compressor, and to connect and operate two additional compressors. Docket No. P-14-029 was opened to address this matter.
Kenai Beluga Pipeline is the consolidated Cook Inlet area natural gas pipeline system connecting the east side of Cook Inlet to the west side of the Cook Inlet at the KPL Junction. KPBL indicates the purpose of the expansion and added compression is to allow direct transportation of additional east-side gas supplies to increased west-side demand (e.g., Matanuska Electric Association, Inc.’s new Eklutna Power Plant).
No motions for waiver or petitions for confidentiality were filed with this application. The Commission has not assessed the completeness of this application. The Commission may determine whether theapplication is complete by December 26, 2014.
