Notice of Utility Tariff Filing
On October 13, 2014, the REGULATORY COMMISSION OF ALASKA (Commission) issued a public notice regarding TA393-8, a request by Chugach Electric Association, Inc. (Chugach) for approval of an Interim Power Sales Agreement (Interim PSA) with Matanuska Electric Association, Inc. (MEA). TA393-8 also requests that all associated costs incurred under the Interim PSA be recovered through Chugach’s cost-of-power surcharge mechanism (referred to in Chugach’s tariff as a Fuel and Purchased Power Cost Adjustment).
Chugach supplemented TA393-8 on November 3, 2014 to include a request for waiver of 3 AAC 52.5045(i), which limits adjustments of actual entries in the cost-of-power balancing account to a one-year period. Rates for power purchased from MEA contained in the Interim PSA will be subject to true-up after MEA’s next revenue requirement study.
