Regulations dealing with regulated New Source Review (NSR)pollutants in the Air Quality Control regulations were adopted by theDepartment of Environmental Conservation on October 9, 2014, with an effectivedate of November 9, 2014. The regulations have been made permanent and havebeen filed by the Lt. Governor. The regulations will appear in Register 212,January 2015, of the Alaska Administrative Code. The Environmental Protection Agency changed the federaldefinition of New Source Review (NSR) pollutants in order to reflect thedifferences in the definitions for air quality attainment areas andnon-attainment areas. The department adopted the new definition in regulationin order to have a New Source Review permitting program that accuratelyaddresses precursor air emissions in nonattainment areas.
