Child Care Program Informational Meetings

The Child Care Program Office (CCPO), under the Department of Health and Social Services, Division of Public Assistance, wishes to inform interested parties of upcoming proposed revisions in regulations governing the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP). The purpose of the CCAP is to assist eligible low to moderate income families with the costs of child care based on a sliding fee scale. The CCAP is authorized under Alaska Statute 47.25 and the Alaska Administrative Code 7 AAC 41.

These revisions are being proposed to clarify current regulations and to promote standards that are child focused, family friendly, and fair to providers while maintaining the integrity of the program. The proposed regulation revisions support better alignment with the CCPO’s mission to “support families in accessing quality child care” and vision to ensure “safe, healthy child care is available and affordable for all families in Alaska.”

We invite you to attend an informational meeting for the purpose of providing your input into proposed regulation revisions. A summary of the proposed changes is included.

The following informational meetings will be held via teleconferences for statewide access to provide an overview of the proposed revision. The teleconference will be ended fifteen (15) minutes after the scheduled start time if there are no participants.
