ADL 228795 MONTANA CREEK DOG MUSHERS ASSN.

The division is reviewing an application for a public access easement from the Montana Creek Dog Musher’s Association (MCDMA) to reserve a public trail easement for the short and medium distance training loops. The subject trail is existing and in use and will not necessitate any construction.  The project is located on state owned land within:

            T23N R4W Sections 4, 9 and 16 Seward Meridian

Portions of these mushing trails used by the MCDMA are overlaid by Revised Statute 2477 (RST) Right-of-Way #536, the Montana Loop Trail. The easement being applied for is to cover those portions of the trail not covered by the 100’ RS 2477 easement.

The Department of Natural Resources, Division of Mining, Land & Water proposes to reserve public easements on State land to preserve existing and future multiple use recreation needs for the public.  The proposed easements will be approximately 5.61 miles in length and contain 68 acres, more or less and shall extend a width of 100 feet. 

In order to be given full weight, all comments, written, telephonic, or electronic should clearly and concisely explain the facts upon which the objection is based. Following the comment deadline, all written responses will be considered and the decision may be modified to incorporate public comments.
