The
Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) has
assumed the responsibilities of the Federal Highway Administration under
Section 326 of amended Chapter 3 of Title 23, United States Code (23 U.S.C.
326), and is soliciting comments and information on a proposal to resurface
Schrock Road. The proposed project is located in Wasilla, Alaska. The purpose
of this proposed project is to extend the service life of the roadway and
reduce maintenance costs. The proposed
work would include:
Milling
and paving
Replacing
signage and striping
Improving
drainage, as needed
Replacing
or installing new cross and approach culverts
Ditch
grading
Upgrading
or installing guardrail and end treatments
Bridge
maintenance, if required
Restoring
the road sub-base in select locations
This
proposed project will comply with Section 106 of the National Historic
Preservation Act; Executive Orders: 11990 (Wetlands Protection), 11988
(Floodplain Protection), 12898 (Environmental Justice), the Clean Air Act, Clean
Water Act, Fish and Wildlife Coordination Act, and U.S. DOT Act Section 4(f).
Construction
for the proposed project is anticipated to begin during the summer of 2015. To
ensure that all possible factors are considered, please provide written
