Notice of Utility Tariff Filings
The REGULATORY COMMISSION OF ALASKA (Commission) gives notice that GOLDEN HEART UTILITIES, INC. (GHU) has filed tariff revisions for its water and wastewater utilities (TA67-118 and TA62-290, respectively). With TA67-118 and TA62-290, GHU proposes to add provisions to its water and wastewater tariffs to permit the utility to bill at cost an person responsible for damaging utility-owned facilities or equipment to recover costs associated with repairs or rehabilitation of any damage, including the cost of replacing facilities or equipment damaged beyond repair. Additionally, GHU proposes adding provisions to its water and wastewater tariffs stating that a customer is responsible for the safekeeping and appropriate use of utility facilities and equipment and requiring that the customer take precautions against damage to, or interference with, the intended function of utility-owned facilities and equipment. As part of its requested revisions, GHU proposes adding two new fees to the schedules of non-recurring fees in both its water and wastewater tariffs titled “Damage to Utility Facilities or Equipment” and “Protection of Utilities Equipment”; both fees are based on the utility’s costs.
The proposed changes will affect all customers of GHU and College Utilities Corporation (CUC), as CUC’s water and wastewater tariffs adopt and incorporate all supplements to the GHU water and wastewater tariffs.
This notice does not contain every pertinent revision or request associated with TA62-290 and TA67-118. The Commission may approve a rate or classification which varies from those proposed.
