NOTICE OF PROPOSED CHANGES IN THE REGULATIONS OF THE
DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND SOCIAL SERVICES

BRIEF DESCRIPTION
The Department of Health and Social Services proposes regulations on certification requirements for emergency medical services personnel.

The Department of Health and Social Services proposes to adopt regulation changes in Title 7, Chapters 26, of the Alaska Administrative Code, dealing with emergency medical services certification, including
7 AAC 26.020 – 7 AAC 26.999, are proposed to be amended to update certification requirements for emergency medical services staff, including applications, repealing obsolete training and requirements, fees, recertification, reciprocity, repeal of requirements dealing with manual defibrillators, examination, and update terminology used in these sections.
You may comment on the proposed regulation changes, including the potential costs to private persons of complying with the proposed changes, by submitting written comments to Mark Miller, Division of Public Health, PO Box 110616, Juneau, AK 99811-0616; E-mail: mark.miller@alaska.gov.
The comments must be received no later than 4:00 p.m. on May 23, 2014.
