NOTICE OF DECISION TO CLOSE SITE EASEMENT TO PUBLIC ACCESS

The Southcentral Regional Land Office will be temporarily closing the site easement known as the Maud Road Rifle Range, ADL 230693, on the Maud Road Extension within the Knik River Public Use Area (KRPUA), for the purpose of Phase I of III construction activities from April 15th, 2014 through July 15th, 2014.
The site is located approximately 3 miles down the Maud Road Extension within Section 16, Township 17 North, Range 3 East, Seward Meridian. It can also be found by GPS at grid 61.562775°, -148.931362°.
This action follows the proposal set forth in the administrative decision issued June 10th, 2010. Use of the site by the public during this time would pose significant risk to public safety. During this time, no shooting or public access will be allowed on the construction site. The site will have multiple pieces of heavy equipment maneuvering on site and sometimes including Maud Road. Workers will also be working downrange of the road along and including the tree line and berms.
