Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport has scheduled firefighter training exercises for Tuesday, August 27, 2103.

Large plumes of dark smoke coming from the Airport's self-contained burn pit facility may be visible during the exercise.  The burn pit facility is located on the south side of the Airport and is operated under an Air Quality Open Burn Permit issued by the Municipality of Anchorage, Department of Health and Human Services. 

The Airport fire department conducts live fire exercises in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration training requirements for aircraft rescue and fire fighting personnel.
