POW IFA Hollis/Clark Bay Ferry Terminal Improvements
Project No. 67449 / STP-0924(019)

DOT&PF in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration proposes to use federal funds replace the marine transfer and vessel berthing structures at the Clark Bay Ferry Terminal on Prince of Wales Island near Hollis, Alaska.

Construction is projected for the spring or summer of 2014.

The project would replace the existing ferry terminal marine structures and make other necessary improvements to ensure the continued safe public ferry service to Prince of Wales Island from Ketchikan. The work includes the removal, replacement and minor relocation of the transfer bridge, bridge support float and all offshore mooring and berthing structures.

Development of this proposed project would follow a process required by the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).  Based on project location and scope of work, the environmental document would be a categorical exclusion (CE). Possible affected resources include wetlands, waters of the U.S., essential fish habitat, eagles, and cultural or historic properties.
