Notice Of Public Meeting For The Fairbanks Fish & Game Advisory Committee

The Fairbanks Advisory Committee will be holding a public meeting in Fairbanks
at the Alpine Lodge on October 21, 2009 at 7:00 PM

Tenative agenda items will include the following:
Fish Issues:
• Season Summery of Copper River Sports Fish-Tom Taube, depending on
availability of data
• Season Summery of Yukon Commercial Fish-Fred Bue, depending on availability
of data
Game Issues:
• Discussion of 40 Mile Caribou Herd Chair meeting on October 15, 2009 by Mike
Tinker
• Tentative results from 2009 Hunting Seasonin GMU 20 – Tom Seaton
• Develop recommendations to be sent to Delta Bison Working group in response
to Delta Bison News update.
• Report on Eastern Interior Regional Advisory Committee- Virgil Umphenour
• Reminder that Arctic proposal books are on line and should be mailed in
October
• Reminder that the Statewide (Cycle A) Board of Game proposals are due
November 6, 2009 by 5:00 PM

Advisory committees are local groups that meet to discuss fishing and wildlife
issues and to provide recommendations to Alaska Board of Fisheries and Alaska
Board of Game. All meetings are open to the public. Advisory Committees are
intended to provide a local forum on fish and wildlife issues. Their purpose
includes: 1) developing regulatory proposals, 2) evaluating regulatory
proposals and making recommendations to the appropriate board, 3) providing a
local forum for fish and wildlife conservation and use, including matters
relating to habitat, 4) advising the appropriate regional council on resources,
and 5) consulting with individuals, organizations, and agencies.
