Notice Of Public Meeting For Juneau-Douglas Fish And Game Advisory Committee

NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETINGS FOR THE JUNEAU FISH AND GAME ADVISORY COMMITTEE IN
THE SOUTHEAST REGION

This is an announcement of a public meeting of the Juneau local fish and game
advisory committee in the Southeast Region of Alaska. All meetings are open to
the public.

The Juneau Advisory Committee will be meeting Wednesday, November 19th, 2008.
There is also a tentative meeting scheduled December 10th. The meeting will be
held at 6:00 pm in the caribou conference room at ADF&G headquarters: 1255 W.
8th street, Juneau, Ak. They will be discussing seat designation and
establishing criteria for holding designated seats on the advisory committee.

Advisory committees are local groups that meet to discuss fishing and wildlife
issues and to provide recommendations to Alaska Board of Fisheries and Alaska
Board of Game. Advisory Committees are intended to provide a local forum on
fish and wildlife issues. Their purpose includes: 1) developing regulatory
proposals, 2) evaluating regulatory proposals and making recommendations to the
appropriate board, 3) providing a local forum for fish and wildlife
conservation and use, including matters relating to habitat, 4) advising the
appropriate regional council on resources, and 5) consulting with individuals,
organizations, and agencies.

The advisory committees will review proposed changes to fishing and hunting
